Khetwayo to drop hit single ‘Jehovah’ on 26 September

Lilongwe based gospel hip hop artist, Khetwayo Sibale  drops a new hit single titled ‘Jehovah’ inspired by his fans.

In the past week or so, Khetwayo took social media by storm asking people to describe Jehovah in one word.

This has formed part of the preparation for the release of Khetwayo’s new single which, according to sources, is set to drop on 26 September, 2017.

It’s been almost 2 years since hip hop artist Khetwayo put out new music. The artist has been quiet since the release of his sophomore album, Anditsogoza, in July, 2015 focusing instead on promoting the project through a college tour, launch event and an unplugged session that took place in April, 2017.

The college tour from 2015- 2016 covered 9 campuses in the 4 major cities of Lilongwe, Mzuzu, Blantyre and Zomba.

During this time he has established himself as one of the best live acts in the land, performing with a band that is arguably the best hip hop band in Malawi.

His performances earned him a call up as one of the opening acts for Zambia’s Pompi as well as one of the main acts at this year’s Ufulu Festival held at Civo Stadium.

When asked why he has taken 2 years to release new material, Khetwayo said he has been focusing on engaging and connecting with his fans which is why he did the tour and organized a free event in April, 2017.

He continued to say he had taken off some time from writing music in order to grow in his faith, the part of his life that informs the type of music he puts out.

Our sources say the unorthodox manner in which he has engaged his fans in the design of the single’s artwork also points to the radical change in direction he has taken on the new song.

His fans should expect to hear something completely new from him.
