Khumbo Ng’ambi now with Chitipa United
Former Be Forward Wanderers forward Khumbo Ng’ambi will now play for Chitipa United in the 2019 TNM Super League season.
The striker was recently seen training with Moyale Barracks Football Club and played for the Lions of Kaning’ina in the northern region super league bonanza that was held in Karonga.
But Ng’ambi has signed a one and a half year contract with Chitipa United as a free agent as he was offloaded by the nomads. He hails from Chitipa district and it is where he started his career as a football player.
The forward was instrumental for Chitipa United on Sunday when he claimed a hat trick in a friendly match against Boma Stars of Tanzania in which Chitipa United won 3 nil.
Chairperson for Chitipa United, Watson Kabaghe, confirmed Ng’ambi’s signing at Chitipa United saying the striker will help the team to stay in the country’s top flight league.
“We needed an experienced striker like Khumbo Ng’ambi. We believe his coming will boost the morale of other players in the team,” explained Kabaghe.
Ng’ambi said he was not satisfied with the offer he was given by Moyale Barracks but now he is happy to play for his home team Chitipa United.
“During pre season one tries luck here and there but I have been impressed with the offer by Chitipa United and I hope to do my best for the team,” said Ng’ambi.
Acting General Secretary for Moyale Barracks Football Club, Lieutenant Gerald Kanje has said as a club they are not affected with Ng’ambi’s decision since they did not sign him.
Reports indicate that Chitipa United is also working towards signing former Mzuni Football Club sweeper Bob Longwe and goalkeeper Dalitso Khungwa.
But football is short lived and Moyare would have offered you a job for life than Chitipa who will enjoy your form in the next few years but when your legs will not be strong enough to hold your body you will need to live. You cannot get this from Chitipa but you would have invested on that with Moyele. You are short sighted my friend.
