Lulu, Phyzix, Tay Grin to perform at RVK Africa Fashion festival as tickets go on sale

As the countdown to RVK Africa fashion festival slated for 25 to 26 November begins, organizers have revealed the list of artists to perform at the event.

According to the organizers, Lush Events, the highly decorated Nyau King Tay Grin, Lulu and Phyzix have been billed to entertain fashion lovers at BICC in Lilongwe.

The fashion showdown has attracted 20 designers and 25 models from across Africa.

Model castings took place on 10 September in Malawi while in South Africa and Ghana they took place on 26 and 27 August respectively.

Some of the designers earmarked to showcase at the event include Lilly Alfonso (Malawi), Nicole Rob (Botswana), Stanley Nkwane (South Africa), Sanah (Zimbabwe), Lulu Makawa (Malawi), Bongani Tambo and Esnarth Nkosi (South Africa).

Nyalisa Wear, a Malawian label well known to be dressing celebrities in South Africa and Malawi and former Big Brother housemate Wati have been added to the list.

Wati, now founder of a collection called “From Surf to Turf” which was inspired by Lake Malawi being Malawi’s big influence, recently told this publication that he is bringing a set of 10 different fabric designs backed by 25 different garments for both females and males which he did singlehandedly.

“RVK Africa Fashion Festival is South African and it carters to all African countries and beyond, therefore it is a perfect platform for every designer. Once the world sees my work, it is going to bring a lot of business to me,” said Wati.

In a related development, RVK (Retro Vintage Kolektion) founder Bongani Tambo has arrived in the country ahead of the festival.
