Lutepo submits nominations papers to contest as MP
Businessperson Oswald Lutepo, a former director of recruitment in President Joyce Banda’s ruling People’s Party (PP, a chief suspect in the Capital Hill looting also known as the cashgate scandal, tendered his nomination papers to Kasungu District Commissioner’s office on Monday to contest as an MP.
Lutepo, who is contesting in Kasungu North Constituency, told Nyasa Times in an interview that he has been pressed by the constituents to contest and serve them.
Lutepo, charged with money laundering, is on court bail after paying a K50 million bond.

“God is on my side. And I am also confident that I will do my campaign without any obstacles;” he said
He further said that he will decide which party to join once elected.
Lutepo is being accused of stealing about K2.5 billion and part of his fortune was donated to PP when he was executive member of the party.
