Ma Blacks granted Visas for UK shows : Malawi’s premier band

Malawi’s reggae outfit The Black Missionaries will be performing in UK during English summer times following granting of Visas to travel to the Queensland, Nyasa Times has learnt.

Black Missionaries manager Ras Ray Harawa confirmed that their Visas were granted last week and that they were preparing for a tour in UK which will also take them to Scotland.

“We have Visas for the whole band and we will be giving Malawians the best entertainment starting this month end,” he said.

The Chileka-based music group, fondly known as Ma Blacks by their fans, have hinted at going to United States soon.

Norah Chiwaula McLintock one of the organisers of the Ma Black UK show, said the first concert will be in Birmingham the last weekend of June.

“Ma Blacks will kick off their tour with a concert which is open not only to Malawians but other nationalities. We expect supporting artists from Zambia, Zimbabwe at the first show in Birmingham,” she said.

The organisers who include Grace Ntolera Mujugu said a full line-up of shows will be announce later but added” the Birmingham show is all set.”

McLintock said Malawi’s premier band will be supported by Anthony Makondetsa, Moda Fumulani and Yanjanani Chumbu.
