MACRA employs sports to facilitate social interaction among communication, telecommunication sectors

In an effort to build strong relationships with its stakeholders, Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) recently organized sports activities at Lilongwe Golf Club.

Participants were drawn from communication as well as telecommunication sectors. They participated in games such as basketball, football, netball, pool as well as bawo.

MACRA Head of Human Resource and Administration, Mary Botoman, said they organized the sporting activities to facilitate social interaction among players in the sector.

“We also help with health and safety and we hope with this interaction we are going to achieve that,” Botoman said.

One of the participants from Malawi Post Corporation, Zikubwerera Washon, described the event as key in strengthening relationships within the communication sector as they all work towards achieving common goals.

“I commend these activities to be of great influence as in the course of doing this, people can easily avoid being attacked by different diseases, which will also help us to save the nation in a right way,” she said.
