Malawi book quarterfinal slot in CECAFA Cup: Beat Zanzibar 2-0

Malawi on Saturday cruised to the quarterfinals of the 2012 edition of CECAFA Challenge Cup when they beat Zanzibar 2-0 at Wankulukuku Stadium.

The three points earned by Malawi to tally six points.

Ndaziona Chatsalia (3′) and Chiukepo Msowoya (6′) early goals earned Malawi a ticket to the next phase.

 Despite the loss, Zanzibar’s four points were enough to earn them a place in the quarterfinals as first of the second best sides from all the three tournament groups. The quarterfinals will start on Monday with a live game at Lugogo grounds

Malawi will now face Kenya on 4th December  who were the runners up in Group A.
