Malawi cabinet reshuffle: Mpinganjira in as Mwanza, Chilunga, Muheya, Khwauli axed

One year into office,   Malawian President Joyce Banda, Africa’s second female leader, continue to reasset control over her government as she on Monday made a minor cabinet reshuffle dropping Professor Peter Mwanza as Minister of Agriculture and bringing in technocrat Dr James Munthali .

Other casualties are Ritchie Muheya and Jennifer Chilunga. Aford lawmaker Khwauli Msiska has also been sacked.

President Banda has also hired into the cabinet firebrand politician Brown Mpinganjira as Minister of Water replacing Muheya.

Banda has also promoted Halima Daudi from deputy minister of health to full minister of Environment, replacing sacked Chilunga.
