Malawi Covid-19 cases rise to 57

Minister of Health Jappie Mhango has announced that one more coronavirus Covid-19_ case has been recorded in the country bringing the total number to 56 with three deaths since the first case was reported on 2nd April 2020.

Minister Mhango announcing new coronavirus case

Speaking in Mzuzu on Monday, Mhango said the new case has been confirmed at College of Medicine in Blantyre.

The case is for a 20-year-old man from Mulanje who returned from South Africa on April 27 2020.

This follows 13 Covid-19 cases registered at the weekend, five of them being health workers from the Blanyre District Health Office.

Meanwhile, Mhango has rebutted allegations by UTM Party secretary general Patricia Kaliati that he is holding a football bonanza in Rumphi.

“I am not running any football bonanza in my area. I am championing the fight against Covid-19 and I can’t do that,” said Mhango.

Mhango said he is disappointed that political leaders are not encouraging social distance in their crowded mass rallies.

“Elections or not, we need people and we cannot be sending them to the grave because you want to win an election. Corona is real, elections or not, corona is real,” he said.

Health rights activist Maziko Matemba also observed that politicians seem to have forgotten the danger that is Covid-19, saying they are prioritizing politics at the expense of people’s health.

Why government is not providing masks to everyone if you care about malawians.Yet you ministers you were sharing covid-19 money on allowances mutagwidwa muvekere ” we should tell finance guys to remove allowances, they should leave only fuel allowances”.Use that money to make masks and give malawians for free if you care about them.Do not mess our country.

Malemu Tippex Arthur P Stole K145 million

We have a serious disease amongst us and that is dpp and its leaders Muthalika and Muluzi. They kill in thousands. They spread poverty. They steal money. They deny millions decent education and health care. They in the end kill many. They burn offices. They burn innocent people to death. Corona is for Trump and Boris Johnson.

HAHAHA. Leave Judge Kenyatta out of the DPP created mess. Have you noticed the pattern? There is a Covid 19 case or two every other day. As others have said, some cases are mere common cold.
July 2 fresh election will go ahead.

Judge Nyirenda’s ruling was specifically for those 4 Chinese National that were denied entry. The injuction was granted because other Chinese Nationals on the same plane were granted entry by the immigration officials.

We knew it that the COVID-19 numbers will rise anyway. It can reach even 10,000 by tomorrow if ever we had this disease in Malawi. We will still have a fresh presidential election, period. Do not play political hide and seek with a very serious disease which has made most of the countries lose lots of life. That will be an insult to those countries.
