Malawi drawn in tough U-20 Cosafa group

Malawi under 20 National Football Team should expect stiff competition in this year’s Cosafa tournament after being drawn in a group that can be regarded as the group of death on Monday.

Peter Mponda: Malawi U-20 coach

The Junior Flames are in Group A alongside neighbours Zambia, Comoros Island and Botswana.

This year’s tournament will be hosted by Zambia and will start on 4th December and will end on 14th December, 2019.

Group C is also a tough one to call with Angola, Mozambique, Eswatini and Seychelles all in the mix.

South Africa are the defending champions and have previously won the tournament four times while Zambia won it three times.

Below is how the teams have been drawn.

Group A: Zambia, Malawi, Comoros Islands and Botswana.

Group B:  South Africa, Lesotho, Madagascar and Mauritius.

Group C: Angola, Mozambique, Eswatini and Seychelles.
