Malawi frustrated by Namibia in World Cup qualifers
Malawi national team was on Wednesday held to a frustrating goalless draw by Namibia at Kamuzu Stadium in the match day-four fixtures of Group World Cup qualifers.
The result was frustrating for Malawi as they blew up the chances to go past Nigeria, as they were level on five points but the ‘Super Eagles’ are top of the table because they have scored more often.
Flames kicked off the game on a high note controlling the proceedings of the match but lacked composure in the scoring positions especially Atusaye Nyondo who was withdrawn to pave way for experienced Easu Kanyenda.
The hosts could have scored in the 12th minute of the batch buy Nyondo was jittery and failed to tap in a Robin Ngalande’s pass.

However, skipper Joseph Kamwendo was enterprising with his crisp passes but the strikers could not make the best out of them.
The second half never even brought any life into the game as fans were starved of a goal.
In another Group F match, Nigeria beat Kenya 1-0 in Nairobi, after an 81st minute goal by Ahmed Musa.
The win puts Nigeria two points clear at the top of the FIFA Africa Group F standings on 8 points, followed by Malawi on 6, Namibia on 4 and Kenya on 2 points.
