Malawi golf ladies team for Dar es Salaam tournament

Malawi is among four countries that have so far confirmed their participation in this year’s East and Central Africa Women’s Challenge Trophy that tees off in Tanzania on August 16.

Tanzania Ladies Golf Union (TLGU) president Mbonile Burton said Malawi was the latest entrant in the list of teams lined up for the championship.

“Malawi’s national women golf team confirmed its participation in this year’s East and Central Africa Challenge Trophy today,” The Citizen newspaper of Tanzania quoted Mbonile on Tuesday.

“This brings to four the number of teams lined up for the event,” she said.

The TLGU president named the other countries expected to battle it out for top honours during the to take part in the 0-12 handicap regional tournament as Zambia, Kenya, Uganda and hosts Tanzania.

She said preparations and logistics for the championship were on course and she appealed to institutions and individuals for financial support.
