As the Utopian had just prophesied the Supreme court in Blantyre found the court injunction suspending corrupt minister George Chaponda in Mzuzu tribal not constitutional. DPP and Peter Mutharika are tribalists who are destroying the country with tribal vibes. Despite being a law proffessor this president is promoting tribalism systematically.
DPP is a worst government that must not be left to continue ruling Malawi, it has destroyed our way of life, culture and beliefs, rule of law and has contaminated the entire system of government with corruption and state theft.
The past governments did not tribalise justice system but DPP under Peter Mutharika have just done that. They seek an appeal following the Mzuzu injunction where judicial men of calibre ruled that George Chaponda needed to be restrained from being a minister when the commission of inquiry involving him was ongoing.
Peter Mutharika went on to delegate the legally sanctioned minister to Germany contravening court order. Parliament and the Executive branches went mute when the president was found in contempt of court. The judicial system of Malawi becomes compromised when top people are found breaking and breaching the system of justice while common ordinary citizens are whipped with punitive sentences because of minor crimes most of whom do not commit crime at all. The issue of Eric Aniva is case in point where only civic education was a solution.
Peter Mutharika’s open and public shielding of thieves came into question when his government instructed for an appeal against the Mzuzu court ruling. Tribalism if not money exchanged hands for judge Mwaungulu to rule otherwise in favour of the thieving government and against the set justice system.
To show that justice system in Malawi is compromised the highest court of the land back-tracked contradicting its own jurisdiction delivered in Mzuzu. The presiding judge selfishly translated the law knowing that Malawians are ignorant to the set rules of governance by alluding “The president is empowered and has the jurisdiction to hire or fire a minister” This is where nonsensical justice system becomes, how can this statement correspond with the judgement of the court ruling in Mzuzu? The court in Mzuzu didn’t fire George Chaponda it just restrained the minister to give the inquiry commission ample time to conclude its work without any interference.
Knowing that the minister is a political position without work ethics as far as civil servants are concerned it was within the powers of the court to restrain Mr. Chaponda in order for justice to take it’s course. The System of justice in Malawi is questionable where judges are acting just as lawyers in order to satisfy their paying clients not finding the ends of justice.
To show that justice will always be justice Judge Mwaungulu and his highest court have been proven wrong Judge Anastasia Msosa and her team of the inquiry on maizegate have ashamed Peter Mutharika, DPP and the Supreme court with its learned judge Mwaungulu by releasing the findings that implicates George Chaponda as being a fraudster requiring Anti Corruption Bureau to investigate.
Suppose the well revered CSOs had not taken the injunction in the high court in Mzuzu what type of tampering could George Chaponda do to stifle the investigations of the inquiry? Your judgement is as good as mine.
This gives satisfaction to the nation of Malawi that Peter Mutharika and his party are a bunch of thieves. The issue of MK92 billion stolen by Bingu, the issue of seven ministers stealing MK577 billion, the issue of MK30 billion smeared on Joyce Banda are all the making of these thieves. The reluctance of Peter Mutharika in curbing and rooting out corruption is evidenced on the way he has handled the issues of cash gate and so many corruption cases he and his government have done.
Despite the outcome of the Anastazia Msosa’s commission of inquiry there is blinding evidence that Peter Mutharika will not fire or do something inorder to show teeth to bite on corruption. Malawians must now know and realize that corruption and state looting is engineered and plotted at State House this is why the president is adamant to do anything against this vice.
You don’t cut the tree that feeds you Peter Mutharika cannot and will not stop corruption in Malawi.
This is an industry that has enriched him and his minions to become overnight billionaires while the country and citizens remain poor.
Citizens! Let us remember and remind ourselves the pain we went through in bringing this freedom that has been hijacked and blackmailed by these people who were economic exiles when you and me were being teargassed, shot with live bullets and detained without trial.
There comes a time in life when citizens use the philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi to lie down in unison and allow these thieves to kill us all or fight them back.
There is no better time than now when the defended cannot be defended anymore. We are aware of the tractorgate, the Malawi Housing gate, three cash gates, the maize gate, the Tevetagate, the peacekeepers money gate and many more scandals that DPP and Peter Mutharika have sanctioned to destroy Malawi and the citizenry.
We have to act and time to act is now.
