Malawi leader pays tribute to Tanzania for 50th union anniversary, heads to Dar es sallam

President Dr Joyce Banda on Saturday joins over 15 heads of State and Government during golden jubilee celebrations for the union between Tanganyika and Zanzibar to be held at Uhuru Stadium in Dar es salaam.

The Malawi leader   meanwhile sent a congratulatory message to President Jakaya Kikwete wishing him and the people of the Republic of Tanzania well saying she cherishes the friendly relations that exist between the two countries since time immemorial.

President Banda is among few leaders who will speak at the event. She returns home the same day.

Meanwhile she has  wished for the continued growth of relations in the years to come and expressed the wish to work together and adopt economic, political and social development solutions for the benefit of the two countries and for global prosperity.

“I would like to express my hope that our bilateral and regional relations will continue to flourish in the years to come and that we will work together to adopt economic, political and social development solutions for the mutual benefit of our two countries and for global prosperity,” said President Banda

Among the high profile leaders who sent the messages are Pope Francis and the presidents of Germany, France, Ireland, India, South Africa, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Algeria, Egypt, South Korea, South Sudan, Benin and People’s Republic of Korea.
