Malawi Manchester Association holds indaba Jan 24
The Malawi Manchester Association (MMA) will hold its indaba on Saturday January 24, 2015 where elections of its executive committee will take place.
The meeting will be held at The Ida Kinsey Centre, 17 Guide Post Road, Grove Village, Manchester, M13 9HP.
The positions up for grabs include Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary General, Vice Secretary General, Organizing Secretary, Vice Organizing Secretary, Treasurer General, Vice Treasurer General, Publicity Secretary, Vice Publicity Secretary, Head of Women’s Desk and Welfare, Vice Head of Women’s Desk and Welfare. Three committee members also will be elected..

Malawi Manchester Association was formed in January 2013. It is aimed at bringing Malawians in Manchester together for social events, helping one another in times of need, engaging in charity activities and acting as a resource centre in promoting Malawian culture.

The committee to be elected should comprise members from different political parties. Strict monitors should be hired. No rigging as what happened on 20th May 2014 in Malawi. Hopefully a member of Malawi Congress party will win the polls and advance the agenda of MCP through that committee. Our beloved President Rt Hon Dr Lazarous Chakwera will be with you in prayers as you conduct this important elections. Please advance the ideals of MCP through this committee. Kwachaa

We also tried to start a similar group in Krugersdorp, RSA koma eeeeeee! gulu silinathe ndi miyezi isanu. Anzathu aChitumbuka anayamba kubweresa chisokonezo chifukwa musungi chuma sanali wamutundu wawo. Zinali zochititsa manyazi kwambiri m’mene gulu la anzathuwa anadzapita kunyumba kwa msungi chuma ndikukamumenya moopsa muja not because he misappropriated the funds but he refused to make payment for a deceased member (tumbuka) who was not participating neither making any financial contribution to the group as stipulated in the code of conduct. The purpose of the group was to bring together all Malawians living in Krugersdorp and to assist one another in case of death, sickness and imprisonment. I’m not against a particular tribe but as Malawians living abroad we need to get together and love one another.
How can you say you are not against a tribe, when you have mentioned a tribe as being the cause of the demise of the group?
