Malawi ministers to sign Reforms performance contracts
For the first time in Malawi’s democratic dispensation, Cabinet ministers will sign Public Sector Reforms Performance contracts with President Lazarus Chakwera, a move aimed at inculcating a culture of accountability and responsiveness in the public sector.

A statement from the Office of the Vice-President says the signing ceremony will expect take place from 9am at the Kamuzu Palace in Lilongwe on Monday, 23rd November, 2020.
According to the statement, signed by the Press Officer in the Office of the Vice President Pilirani Phiri, says the ministers will sign the contracts with the President on behalf of their respective ministries and parastatal organizations that fall under their ministries.
“The Minister of Local Government will also sign on behalf of all City, Municipal and District councils. It is highly expected that the signing of the performance agreement contracts will inculcate a culture of accountability and responsiveness in the public sector.
“The signing ceremony will be followed by quarterly progress reviews through a credible monitoring and evaluation framework to sustain momentum in the implementation of the reforms agenda,” says Phiri in the statement.
they will compete on mirage and bribes reaceived and the ratings are as follows:
MOST BRIBE MINISTERS
Richard Chimwendo Banda
Nkaka
Sidik Mia
MOST TRAVELLED MINISTERS
kaliati
Gospel Kadzako
Chiponda
Ntambo
MOST USELESS MINISTER
NTAMBO
KADZAKO
These are blurred performance contracts as I would think they do not have subsets to an individual PS of a Ministry or Director of a Government Department or CEO of the respective parastatal and only cover reforms.

Performance Contracts! [How many planets are there!]
Another pie in the sky idea.
I may have not understood the post, but I was of the impression that every employee does a performance review at the end of the year?
What you are supposed to be doing is in the job description and you sign a contract of employment saying you understand what your job is.
Review is at the end of the year.
The two are not the same. Performance contract/Performance agreement is a promise made by an employee to an employer at the beginning of a financial year, what an employee intends to achieve within the agreed timeframe. It has Key Performance Indicators or deliverables. The employer use the performance contracts in monitoring and evaluating employee performance during and the end of the agreed timeframe. It enables an employer to achieve an objective performance appraisal.
Agree but Chanwera promised the cabinet ministers will be evaluated after 5 months period after their appointments. Under which KPIs will they be evaluated? Others by the look of public indicators have already failed. Is he going to reshuffle his cabinet to replace them with men and women who already have a high performance calibre?
Thank you.
Can you please give me a yardstick used when evaluating such a contract.
I can understand it being used in constructions,or stage performance.
