Malawi musicians Drew Moyo, Faith Mussa lined up at Glastonbury Festival in UK with Katy Perry, Ed Sheeran and Shaggy

Courtesy of Beating Heart, Malawian musicians Drew Moyo and Faith Mussa will from 21st – 25th June perform at a major British culture event dubbed “Glastonbury Festival” in United Kingdom.

Although they will perform on different stages, the two local artists have joined an amazing line-up of headliners such as Katy Perry, Ed Sheeran, Major Lazer, Lorde, Anderson Paak, Shaggy, Solange and Foo Fighters among others.

Drew Moyo, whose recently released “Vimbuza” EP is enjoying airplay worldwide said it was an honour to perform at the same festival with such amazing international artists.

“I am humbled to represent Malawi through music on a world stage.  This is a great opportunity for Malawi music to be heard and appreciated on the international scale,” said Drew who fuses traditional with modern sounds.

Vimbuza EP’s single “Chingoma” debuted on position three on one of the leading South Africa’s 5FM “In DAS we Trust” chart show.

Faith Mussa is a well known contemporary artist who recently collaborated with Sonyezo on ‘Ndapeza Mbambande’ which is a theme song for National Cookstove Steering Committee’s National Cleaner Cooking Awareness Campaign.

Glastonbury Festival is a five-day festival of contemporary performing arts inspired by the ethos of the hippie, counterculture and free festival movements.

Other artists scheduled to take over the Gas Tower will be Beating Heart Project alongside The Busy Twist, Throwing Shade and Afriquoi.
