Malawi musicians to resume live shows: ‘Nation of Covidiots’
The country’s musicials say they want to continue their careers after coronavirus had put their plans on pause, announcing they will resume live shows.
Chairperson of the group Wendy Harawa told journalists in Lilongwe that the musicians are simply following the example that the political leaders have shown addressing mass rallies and disregarding social distancing.
“We will have to resume holding gigs. Politicians are hoolding meetings of hundreds of people and no action is taken against them. So, we can as well hold shows,” said Harawa.
The musicians say politicians are holding campaign meetings attracting more than 100 people in direct breach of government recommendation as a preventative measure against Covid-19 spread.
Although public and private schools remain closed since March, church gatherings continue with strict social distance compliance while bars, central and mobile markets remain open with little compliance to social distancing.
Fuck covid. If you’re afraid of covid don’t come. The rest of us shouldn’t fail to live our lives because of your fear of covid. Covid Will not end tomorrow. And covid will not be the last pandemic we see in this lifetime. So are we going to be hiding every time a new disease comes? Then why don’t we just lay down and DIE!

Two wrongs don’t make one right. Was the grouping formed without rules and regulations( Constitution)? Or it was formed just to follow what others are doing? I for one find this reasoning very absurd, illogical, unethical and mediocre. No wonder our artistes ( music in particular retrogress instead progressing).

They’re not dunderheads. They need to eat and support their families. Let’s not kill people in the name of saving people from covid. If you’re afraid of covid, don’t come or wear a mask just like those who are afraid of hiv don’t fuck around or they wear a condom. We are all adults. No one should be forced to observe their health.
