In a highly contested encounter, the two teams went neck to neck with a 29 baskets tie.

So far, the two teams are yet to taste a defeat but Tigresses have a game in hand.

Sindi Simutowe was a marvel to watch as she notched most of Tigresses baskets, while the likes of Bridget Kumwenda and Towera Vinkhumbo were on top of their game on the part of Diamonds.

Tigresses’ assistant coach Charles Mhango described the outcome of the game as fair and vowed to soldier on all the way to win the league.

“First of all let me salute my players  for a gallant fight. It was a tough game but to us it is not a bad result,” said Mhango.

Diamonds coach Griffin Saenda said they will work extra harder to chase for the title.

“Our aim was to collect three points but we are not disappointed with a point,” said Saenda.

However, things are not rosy with MTL Queens after being clipped 18-54 against Diamonds on Saturday they donated  three points to Prison.

The team, once a giant in Malawi netball failed to turn up for the match.

Southern Region netball league general secretary Anne Hanjahanja said so far they are impressed with the performance of teams in the league.
She however, urged netball lovers to continue patronising games in the OG Issa.
