Malawi Police arrest 3 men for robbing an American items worth K5.2m

Malawi Police in Balaka have arrested three men suspected to have robbed an American national Brenda Trela items worth K5.2 million plus $100 Dollars cash.

Sub-Inspector Edith Kachotsa: We have arrested the three men

Balaka Police Spokesperson Sub-Inspector Edith Kachotsa identified the three as Gerald Banda, Charles Mwale and Christopher Adam Adin.

Kachotsa also confirmed that Police are still hunting for two other suspects who are still at large.

According to the Police Publicist, the incident happened at Bolamoyo Lodge where the suspects went and forced the receptionist to direct them to the victims room claiming they were C.I.D Officers and that
they wanted to search dangerous drugs.

Kachotsa said the suspects went away with a digital camera, laptop, Power Bank and cash plus a mobile phone belonging to the receptionist.

The matter was reported to Police who launched investigations leading to the recovery of all the stollen item.

Banda (30) hails from Halala Village, T/A Kuntumanji while Mwale and Adin hails from Mawawa Village T/A Kaomba in Kasungu and Mtambo Village T/A Mthiramanja, Kasungu respectively.

They will appear in court soon to answer robbery charge.

Inu a Paty, I don’t understand your question. To me the article is clear. The receptionist had his/her mobile phone stolen. The rest – digital camera, laptop, power bank, cash – belonged to the American. Or maybe you understand the article to be saying that the receptionist had items worth K5.2m and $100 cash in his/ her office? In Malawi? Seriously?

What are the items stollen from the American? The headline doesnt depict receptionist being robbed.
