Murdered woman found wth left breast removed
Unidentified woman aged between 28-30 years has been found dead with a left breast removed, Malawi police have confirmed.
According to Nkhotakota deputy police spokesperson Paul Mwalimwe, the body was found floating in Bua River in the district, in the morning hours of Friday.
The police suspect that the woman was murdered by unknown thugs at Bua bridge in Chidzuma village in the area of traditional authority Mphonde in Nkhotakota.
“The body was found in a decomposed state with chopped left breast and several deep cuts in the head, hands and on both legs,” said Mwalimwe.
Postmortem results carried by Nkhotakota district hospital revealed the death was due to loss of blood following the cuts the deceased sustained.
Meanwhile, police have instituted an investigation to bring to book suspects involved in the murder.
Police are further asking the general public to report any person suspected to be behind the development.
