Malawi Police engage Nigerian community on security issues

In a bid to ensure security in the country, Malawi Police Commissioner for Central Region John Nyondo stressed the need for Nigerians residing in the country to take a role in ensuring that safety and security is prevailing in the region.

Nyondo made the when he met with the Executive Committee of the Nigerian Community in Lilongwe on Thursday.

The aim of the interactive meeting was to establish a cordial relationship with between the country’ s security agency and the Nigerian Community.

“As Malawi Police Service, we need support from people like you because when we work together as a team we can overcome several challenges in security circles”, said Nyondo.

While noting that Malawi Police work for everyone, Nyondo said it is imperative that the Nigerian community should perceive the Police as their own.

He further stressed that it is the mandate of Malawi Police to protect everyone in the country as a result; his office is always open for interaction over issues pertaining to security in the region.

Speaking on behalf of Nigerian community committee, Kenneth Nwosu who is also the chairman of the committee observed that it was ideal to hold such a meeting in order to create a platform where the Malawi Police and Nigerian community can strengthen working relationship for the betterment of the two.

Nwosu applauded the Malawi Police Service especially in central region for the excellent job that they are doing and assured them of necessary support whereever possible.

“We want to thank the Police for the good job that you are doing across the region and we want to assure you of our support whenever need be”, said Nwosu.

Taking his turn, the Officer In-charge of Lilongwe Police Station, James Munthali praised the regional commander for such initiative stating that engaging the business community in security issues is another better platform where different views regarding security issues can be brainstormed and implemented thereby strengthening the security of the region.

No sense!!! do you know Nigerians? how can you do this? you mean you are trying to work together with Nigerians in security issues? Malawi!!!!!! reverse the meeting please. What you have done is to sell your security to Nig!!! my my my my my my God! These people are blood thieves, why not Ethiopians, Burundians, DRCs? hehehehehehe wuluuuuuu Malawi. Nigerians?? kaya ndukayika koma.

Mr nyondo I really respect your job and strategic planning for tackling crimes among foreigners.. But its not enough…. I would suggest that immigration officer they should be infront to check them properly… Malawian we didn’t know drugs.. Nigerians brought to this country.. we didn’t know 409 kapena kuti fraud, they brought in this country… we didn’t know forging they brought .. in this country.. theu still our passports by marrying to Malawians girls.. then kuwasiya iwo kuthawa bola apeza passport… I ve been with Nigerians from Europe, Asia America and here home Malawi…. please I LOVE MALAWI. I agree with you, lack of patriotism at immigration is ruining this country. The whole immigration service must be reinvented and strengthened as a border protection service. Immigration is not just stamping passports and issuing visa it’s about actively protecting our border from criminals. We must stop criminals before they get here. We must not be afraid to deny entry at the border if someone give unsatisfactory responses to enquiries about their trip to Malawi.

This is a blue lie and you dont know what is on the ground . All the vehicles with your officers in the airports Chileka and kamuzu Internation are from them even at your head office. There is a big relationship which you can not afford to track down. First follow the cases drugs , ivory and stones which has been in the airports where are they culprits are walking scott free and even some of your staff you transferred on this issue are back in the airports.
