Malawi Police IG absence raises health questions
Inspector General of Malawi Police Lexten Kachama on Friday conspicously missed at senior officers end of year party at police headquarters in Lilongwe raising questions on his health.
This came barely days after the social media was awash with speculations that he was admitted to a South African hospital with an undisclosed disease.
The Facebook posts claimed senior officers were repramanding law enforcers who were leaking the story.
However, police spokesman at Area 30, James Kadadzera refuted the allegations.
At the Area 30 senior officers end of year party, Kachama was represented by Willie Mwaluka, senior assistant deputy commissioner of police.
He did not say anything on the IG but applauded police officers for the job well done in 2016.
Mwaluka said 66 police officers died in 2016, half of whom died in line of duty.Follow and Subscribe Nyasa TV :

The Public must be fully informed of the whereabouts of the IGP. He is a very important person to go missing just like that!
why is Malawi fond ov hiding diseases for high ranked personnel?
Malawi should build AT least one good public hospital specialist so that tax payers money remains in The country. Its too expensive to sen officials to South Afrika and India. All that money can be needed in poor nation. Why Malawians should pay other countries? When NO one Come to pay US?
Malawians we will never change for the better.Timakonda kubisa matenda ngati kuti ndi ndalama.Aliyense woyendela magazi ndi madzi ka nthawi kena azadwala so ngati IG akudwala dziko lidziwe,no need of hiding.Maiko a anzathu amanena kuti mwachitsanzo amatha kunena kuti “Pulezidenti walephera kupezeka pa mwambo wakuti wakuti chifukwa sakumva bwino mthupi”Bwanji ife a Malawi timalephera kutero?
