Four people in Kasungu district have been attacked by a viscous Hyena, police have said.
The incident happened on Monday 22nd Feruary, 2016 at Longwe Village,T/A Santhe in the district.
The first victim to be attacked was Stella Wiziward,16, who on the mentioned day had gone to their garden with her mother to plant sweet potatoes.
Unfortunately her mother left her alone in the farm and went back home to collect a hoe.
Whilst she was busy planting the potatoes a hyena attacked her causing injuries on various parts of the her body.
The victim has been admitted to hospital for treatment and her condition is critical.
After the first attack the hyena also attacked three other men separately and have been treated at Kasungu District Hospital.
Meanwhile the hyena has been killed.
In the same district, a one-and-half-year- old boy, Tiyamike Custom Demela has died after drowning in a well.
Police in the district told Nyasa Times the baby died on Monday 22nd February at Noah village, T/A Kawamba in the district.
Facts are that on the stated date and time the mother of the child was plucking out burley tobacco in their garden, and the child was playing with his friends near a well within the garden.
Unfortunately the child fell into the well and drowned.
He was rescued alive some few minutes later by his mother, however, he died while receiving first aid treatment.
Postmortem conducted revealed that he died due to suffocation.Follow and Subscribe Nyasa TV :
