Malawi PR Society launches website, up and running

The Public Relations Society of Malawi (PRSM)  has  launched its website – prsm.mw.

The society was launched on Friday  at a ceremony to took place at MISA-Malawi’s Mtolankhani House at Njewa in Lilongwe.

Speaking during the ceremony, PRSM president Lewis Msasa said the launch of the website was an exciting moment for the society as it marks its existence on the world wide web and the global scene.

“In this day and age, you don’t exist if you don’t have a presence on the web. PRSM is now truly existent because anybody looking for us now will just do a Google search and find us,” said Msasa.

Making a presentation about the website, Chairperson of website task force Thom Khanje said they have purchased and registered a unique .MW domain name of PRSM (prsm.mw) which is now live, up and running.

He said the website comes with an email hosting facility that has made it possible for PRSM to have its own corporate email addresses, marking an end to the use of Gmail for its email connections. Secretariat can now be reached through addresses [email protected] and [email protected].

He said the website was designed and developed in accordance with PRSM website, communications and strategic plans which provide for the creation and operation of a website to facilitate communication and engagement with its members, partners and the general public as well as raise the profile of the society and the PR profession in Malawi.

“The website will facilitate the promotion of excellence in practice, provide online resources for professional practice and development, showcase PRSM’s milestones, provide a platform for professional debate and discussion on issues affecting the PR industry in Malawi and beyond as well as engagement with current and prospective partners and help in retaining members while attracting and recruiting new ones,” said.

PRSM was established in 2016 as a professional grouping of Malawi public relations and corporate communications practitioners.
