Malawi Queens lose 5th spot toSouth Africa: Australia retain Netball World Cup
Malawi Queens ended their Netball World Cup in Sydney on a low when they lost narrowly 46-48 to eternal rivals South Africa for a fifth spot play-off.
Australia overcame rivals New Zealand 58-55 to win their 11th title.
England beat Jamaica 66-44 to take bronze .
Wales ended the competition in seventh after winning their play-off 64-41 against Uganda to claim their best finish at a World Cup since 1991 – when it was also hosted in Sydney.
Trinidad and Tobago ended ninth after beating Samoa 64-51.
Scotland ended the tournament 12th after losing their 11th-place play-off 51-41 against Fiji.
Meanwhile Barbados ended 13th with a 53-38 win over Zambia and Sri Lanka finished last after losing 59-32 to Singapore.

Sorry queens, you have done your best but not all days are sundays. The one point you need to is you have the team that can win but you need to correct a few in-house concerns. A house divided cant stand. Check out at the management level to ensure complete player motivation.

I salute the Queens. These guys carry the true Malawian spirit that existed during Kamuzu’s time. With little resources, poor training facilities that are nothing compared to top eight, the Queens conquered. If the Queens had the attention accorded to the Flames they could take position 1 or 2. Our today’s Malawi has little space where achievers can thrive. We are a society that thrives on mediocrity and as we know mediocrity is anti progress. We have too many dunderheads in strategic positions in this country. Just take a look at the president’s team of advisors…….who has credible credentials worthy talking about. Look at public sector you only mediocrity mediocrity in top jobs. Thank you Queens for making us feel like a worthwhile society.
Back to real business, Chinunda and Bapu out of Nam. Nothing has changed or been achieved bar enhancing Mwawis status. They have beaten the same teams they always beat and likewise clobbered by the same teams that beat team and yet a Malawi kusangalala when the Team is following Flames foot steps with current NAM administration, bola tikanagula zakudya zama patient ku Bwaila Hospital.

Much ado about nothing.
I was watching the Queens during the wee hours. They made Malawi proud and gave everything .. at one moment taking the lead, then bad luck, then again. It was a big game with the arch-rivals in sport. The spirits of the coaches were great. I felt many spectators sounded supportive for Malawi. The Malawi colors were beautiful like the Queens themselves. You do not have to be on the 5th Spotlight. Your best is always good enough. Congrats to the Queens

u tried to defend bt the day was’nt yours but maintain ur position is’nt simple.I conglatulate u much in a competition everybody fights for position one bt not all of u can be position number one thus is called competition.
Bad ending to the fairytale story….hard luck girls u still the best makamaka Carol Mtukule uyu…….NAM nd the technical team better sit down and plan ahead,set targets and promote the game countrywide…so of the girls playing now may not be there the next tournament…..we need netball academies..netball youth tournaments that will ensure good progression of the system being set……perfomance wise the Queens have better under Peace nd Mary maintain those two and surely we will break the top 4 huddle…….
