Malawi rising star Gerald Phiri Jnr signs for Zim’s Caps

Mighty Wanderers blossoming midfielder Gerald Papa Phiri jnr has put pen to paper at Zimbabwean side Caps United,a move which he has described it as a stepping stone to a bright career.

The young and up-coming star confirmed with Nyasa Times that he signed a contract on Friday morning.

He disclosed that the deal will keep him at Caps for four years.

“I am a very happy because this is a step forward to my career. I cannot say much apart from thanking God for this opportunity,” said Gerald.

Caps and Wanderers are reported to have agreed on a $15 000 [about K6 million] transfer-fee.

Gerald will follow into the foot-steps of other Mighty Wanderers players Joseph Kamwendo, Allan Kamanga and Philip Nyasulu, who had a short stint at the Zimbabwean out-fit some years back.
