Malawi Super League suspends four over match-fixing
The Super League Association of Malawi (Sulom) has suspended four people for alleged involvement in match-fixing.
According to a damning report in the Daily Times last week, Silver Strikers officials promised Escom United defender Chipiliro Jose K150, 000 so that he should help the club win their last game in the elite TNM Super League.
Silver went on to win the game 1-0 to leapfrog Escom who just needed a draw to win the championship.
The four, Dyson Musa the whistle blower, Silver Strikers duo of Owen Munthali, Martin Chibweya and Escom United player Jose have been ordered not to be involved in football matters paving way for investigations to take place.

Sulom’s general secretary William Banda told Nyasa Times that they have instituted a committee to investigate the whole saga.
“We have put a committee to investigate on the matter and as such we have suspended the four implicated,” he told Nyasa Times.
“They should not be involved in any football matters until the investigations are over,” said Banda, who went on to stress that names of the people in the committee will remain unknown for security reasons.
Banda also said, “ We hope that things will be done as soon as possible since it seems there is information already like the text messages which these people were involved in their discussions.”
But Munthali and Chibweya denied the allegations, claiming they don’t know Musa.
