Malawi TNM Super League first round registers at least 260 goals

The first round of the 2015 TNM Super League, which concludes this coming weekend, has registered 260 goals from 103 matches, a goal more than the previous edition at the same stage.

Zomba based and military side Red Lions forward Innocent Bokosi is leading the scorers chart with nine goals to his credit while Silver Strikers and Bullets forwards Green Harawa and Chiukepo Msowoya are second and third with eight and seven goals, respectively.

Blue Eagles forward John Malidadi and Harawa have both claimed a hat trick this far.

Silvers defender and captain Lucky Malata, Chisomo Mpachika of Dedza Young Soccer, Justin Kamanga and Richard Chande (both of Epac FC) also appear on the scorers chart having hit the back of their net.

Defending champions, Bullets, widely known as The People’s Team, completed their first round assignment with a 4-1 over Epac FC at Kamuzu stadium and they are topping the log table with 32 points from 14 games.

Bullets have also scored 27 goals, more than any team in the top flight league.

Azam Tigers and Be Forward Wanderers have all 26 points from the same of number of games, but the Tigers are second as they have scored more goals than the Nomads.

Coming fourth are the Lilongwe based cops, Blue Eagles with 23 points, Mafco FC are fifth with 22 points.

Civo United and Kamuzu Barracks have both conceded the least number of goals this far (12) and both teams will be completing their first round against rookies FISD Wizards this coming weekend.

Rookies Dedza Young Soccer have fragile defence as they have let in 30 goals. FISD Wizards, Epac F.C, Dedza Young Soccer and Airborne Rangers are yet to win away. Bullets and Blue Eagles are yet to lose at home while the Nomads, Red Lions and the champions have not lost away.
