Malawi TNM Super League second round kicks off Sat
Malawi’s flagship TNM Super League gets into second round on Saturday after three weeks of recess.
Super League of Malawi (Sulom) General Secretary Williams Banda said all was set for the league to resume after the recess which also offered teams an opportunity to transact transfer of players during the transfer window period which was closed on Friday.
“The second round is kicking off on Saturday as we are intending to finish the league within the year as earlier planned,” Banda said.
He appealed to clubs and referees to exercise fair-play in the spirit of sportsmanship as teams would be gunning for better results to either win the title or escape relegation.
“We are appealing to teams to accept defeat honourably rather shifting the blame to referees,” Banda said.
“Most of the disputes about poor officiation are not fair,” he added.
Moyale Barracks took the lead at half time recess after being awarded the abandoned game against Silver Strikers 3-0.
The game was abandoned after Silver protested against a penalty awarded to Moyale while the game was at one-all.
