Malawi to pay Mozambique US$5,000 for Flames friendly
Malawi will meet the full cost of travel and accommodation for Mozambique who are booked to face the Flames on 6 July as part of the country’s Golden Jubilee of independence at Kamuzu Stadium.
Football Association of Malawi (FAM) General Secretary Suzgo Nyirenda disclosed that Mozambique would also pocket US$5,000 (about K2 million) in appearance fee for the match.
Nyirenda said the government would pay all the expenses as it has been the case with such games in the past.

“We are doing everything possible to have all the logistics regarding the game been put in place,” Nyirenda said.
“We have requested Mozambique to give us a list of a 25-member squad for us to start processing air tickets.”
He said the game would be played at Kamuzu Stadium which has also indicated that the 50th anniversary of since Malawi became independent of British colonial rule will be held in Blantyre.
“The Ministry of Sports, Youth and Culture has said the game would be played in Blantyre,” Nyirenda said.
In a related development the General Secretary disclosed that Malawi has also secured a friendly against Uganda but he did not divulge more details into the arrangement.
He said Malawi will face Uganda on their way to play Benin in a crucial Africa Cup of Nation final group qualifier in September
