Malawi to play Mozambique on 49th Independence celebrations 6 July

Football Association of Malawi has confirmed that Flames play Mozambique national team on 6th July 2013 as part of this year’s Independence Celebrations scheduled to take place at CIVO Stadium in Lilongwe.

In an e-mail made available to Nyasa Times signed by FAM’s general secretary Sugzo Nyirenda said the 25 member Mozambique delegation is expected to arrive in the country on 5th July 2013.

Meanwhile, Fam has released a Flames 25-member squad to go into camp on Monday   to prepare for this friendly encounter.

The squad which is comprised of experienced and new comers has three goalkeepers, six defenders, nine midfielders and seven strikers.

Some of new names in the squad are Silver Strikers man of the moment Chawanangwa Kawonga, Shoemaker Kuwali and Stain Malata, who will be incorporated with the likes of Fischer Kondowe, Dave Banda and Bongani Kaipa.

Goalkeepers: Owen Chaima, Charles Swini and Richard Chipuwa

Defenders: Lucky Malata, John Lanjesi, George Nyirenda, Kondwani Lufeyo, Bongani Kaipa and Douglas Chirambo

Midfielders: Young Chimodzi Jnr, Frank Banda, Patrick Gunde, Micium Mhone, Ndaziona Chatsalira, Chimango Kayira, Fisher Kondowe, Stain Malata and Davie Banda.

Strikers: Gastin Simukonda, Gabadhino Mhango, Rodrick Gonani, Joel Chipofya, Boniface Kaulesi, Shoemaker Kuwali and Chawanangwa Kawonga.
