Chimulirenji said this on Saturday when he attended the wedding ceremony of Inkosi Gomani V and his 23-year-old South African wife Rishaladzi.

However, he did not say whether it will be the government sponsoring the Dubai honeymoon trip or not.

He said when the couple is ready for the trip, they should contact his office for the arrangements.

The wedding brought together politicians from all the major political parties since the May 21 highly contested but disputed elections.

President Peter Mutharika however did not attend as he delegated Chimulirenji and First Lady Gertrude Mutharika.

Chimulirenji of the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) came face to face with Malawi Congress Party (MCP) president Lazarus Chakwera and UTM president Saulos Chilima for the first time since the elections.

Chakwera and Chilima are disputing the presidential poll results in the Constitutional Court.

  1. this woman called mrs mutharika always proves an embarrassment with her lack of style. She looks like a mad woman. Is it nobody cares to advise her or she is stubborn.

  2. Dzibia zake zimenezo ku Dubai my foot the Arab countries they don’t give the domn so watch out

  3. This is yet another example of the DPP having no sense at all of priorities. Tax payers’ money is very precious and should not be thrown around on useless and unnecessary projects. It is very easy to be generous with other people’s money, in this case ours, the tax payers. Does the DPP ever even listen to, never mind take on board, the criticisms levelled against it on a daily basis?

  4. I Remember muthalika he promised that he. Will built two stadum for using his own maney, but he ended up using taxpayers, and this man he will do the same thing,..this people are so heartless, they dont care about athers..

  5. DPP yamubatiza. Ana akusowa fees, kumakhala pasi pa mtengo.

I know the honey moon money cannot build a school but that mind set is wrong.

These guys knew they were getting married and probably they planned for their honey moon.

If your office has too much to spare please donate for the good course.

Go to Bottom Hospital and see how people are suffering. They Will appreciate tgat money.

  6. Please Inkosi, don’t accept handouts from APM/Chimulirenji. This is stolen taxpayers money and you will have a guilty conscience for years to come should you go to Dubai on a paid up trip. You have done well so far. Don’t spoil it.

  7. nyaMathebila, tell your husband 7to take you to Nyika – beautiful, quiet, fresh air . Most of all, you will show your love and commitment to your Mother Malawi.

  8. My humble advice to the Ingwenyama is that this offer should not be accepted. You will be on a collision course with Malawians already angry with the abuse of their taxpayers money. Besides, why Dubai and not our own tourist destinations which the Rishalaza should appreciate and help us market in her home country? Pumbwa sadzatheka!

  9. “Chimulirenji … did not say whether it will be the government sponsoring the Dubai honeymoon trip or not.”

We all know that this gift will be funded by the taxpayers, either openly or covertly. Before doing so I wish that some thought were given to some of the poor residents of Malawi, such as the girl who had to write important Standard 8 exams sitting on a brick. See second photo at:

    https://www.nyasatimes.com/standard-8-exams-end-as-students-sit-on-floor-csos-demand-explanation/

Read: ” … students were asked to bring a brick each where they sat on during the examination period whilst in some are the candidates sat on the floor.”

  10. From the statement ‘contact my office’ ndalama zichoka ku boma. Now, why should my tax be sponsoring private honeymoon? Tipange sponsor ukwati wa bingu, pitala then izonso? DPP mmationjeza. If my tax was not automatically deducted from my salary I never ever give it to mutharika to abuse the way he does.

  11. Iyi ndisonkho straight away, nanga akuoffice ziakhudzaso bwanji….mukanatha kunena kuti mundiyimbile afumu
