Malawi wait to know contestants, Big Brother names 7 celebrity housemates

Malawians are eagerly waiting to know two housemates who will represent the country at the newly-designed Big Brother Africa house.

This year’s show, dubbed Big BrotherStarGame, will feature seven  elected celebrity housemates would be part of the seventh season of Africa’s biggest reality television show.

In a break with the show’s format, this year’s housemates from the participating Sub-Saharan countries will enter as pairs, meaning two Malawians will enter the house in a suburb of Johannesburg on Sunday.

The celebrities were selected from seven countries in Africa to participate in the current edition of the show, which will kick-off on Sunday.

Seven celebrity contestants

They are 22-year-old entertainer and stand-up comedian, DKB, from Ghana; 32-year-old talented rap icon, Prezzo, from Kenya; 25-year-old award-winningsongstress, Lady May, from Namibia, 28-year-old dramatic pop music sensation, Goldie, from Nigeria and socialite, model and businesswoman, 34-year-old Barbz from South Africa.

Others are successful R&B diva, 25-year-old Mampi from Zambia and popular, soulful musician, 27-year-old Roki from Zimbabwe.

For now, the names and ages of the celebrities are all that Big Brother has revealed. How they will play the game or fit into the doubles theme, still remains to be seen.

With a $300,000 winning prize on the table and a new format that sees contestants doubling up to play, the 91-day super-series already promises to be exciting.
