Malawi woman prays naked for four days with her children

A woman in Liwonde, Eliza Jambo locked herself in a house for four days singing, dancing and speaking in tongues with her four children and a grandchild while naked, Malawi News Agency has learnt.

The noise forced neighbours and relatives to break into the house, but were shocked with how Jambo was making her supplication to God.

A neighbour, John Lihoma said Jambo went to pray at a fellowship within the township on Sunday where was given anointed water to drink and on Monday evening locked herself in the house.

He said she was praying on top of her voice shouting, Holy Ghost Fire!

According to Lihoma, they (neighbours) noticed that there was no sign of cooking at the house as all members of the family were indoors praying and one of the children was crying loudly and continuously.

Frightened with the situation, Lihoma said neighbours summoned her sister, Lucy Chikwewe Kanjira who resides within the township to intervene. And Thursday morning, Kanjira permitted neighbours to break into Jambo’s house.

In the house, Jambo and her four children were found naked except for a son who was being beaten ‘because was considered to be possessing demons’, according to Lihoma.

Jambo’s children, aged between two and 18 looked pale and hungry having stayed for four days without food.

Meanwhile, Kanjira has said she would be engaging men of God to pray for Jambo, believing  that her sister has been bewitched.

I wonder which situation have ever been dealt with in that way. We need to deal with the situation face to face wth the help of God. We have to do the word. For example you cannot lock yourself in a house and expect to find food. Some have spent time climbing the mountain to get a job or a husband. If you are looking for a job you have to apply for a job first and pray for it and it shall be given unto you. The same if you are looking for a husband you must be exposed to men who can propose you but you must only pray that God should give you the right husband. May God himself free the sister mentioned and grant the spirit of proper knowledge on how to worship him. Amen
