Malawi women scramble for Van Vicker autograph
Many Malawian women on Friday night scrambled at Robins Park in the commercial city of Malawi, to get the signatures of Ghanaian actor Van Vickers who is a hottest actor in Nollywood movies.
Apart from his acting prowess, Van is blessed with good looks that would make many-a-female-heart flutter
Vicker, who stormed the magnificent Hall at 10pm through the back door of the entrance, received applause from the fans upon his arrival.
Ladies screamed his name as he was paraded on the stage to his seat in blue spectacles, black jacket and blue jean.
As the Nollywood actor was taking his seat, the audience especially ladies scrambled to take photos on their mobile phones while others were busy requesting for autographs.
One lady was heard on top of her voice,” Can you please sign me an autograph on my blouse.”
Van Vicker, who spent part of his 30 minutes signing autographs, was asked by the master of ceremonies former Big Brother representative Code Sangala to address the audience.
In his five minutes address, Van Vicker said that he was happy to be in Malawi for the first time and that he was amazed with the warm welcome from Malawians.
“This is my first time to be in Malawi but lam so impressed with the support from you Malawians,” said Vicker, before shouting on top of his voice: “Malawi Woyeeeee!”.
After his speech, it was the time for the audience to shake their bodies through various artists like the Zambian duo of the Olga Family, Malawi’s kings of reggae Black Missionaries.
First to take the stage were the ‘Minga mu nsomba’ fame crew, Olga Family, who played four songs which included the famous Coca-Cola hits.
However, it was the turn for Black Missionaries, who were a marvel to watch with their Kuyimba 1 songs.
Before the arrival of Van Vicker, some artists who performed were Dan Lufani, Lulu and the young brother to Dan Lufani, who thrilled the audience with Sawa sawa sawale hits in Chichewa.
