Malawi’s CBR Tours rebrands, offering trip to Brazil World Cup

Fifteen years after its establishment in Malawi, CBR Tours Travel & Resorts has rebranded to reflect the phenomenal services the company offers.

The rebranding drive has seen CBR donning a new identity, a new logo which groups its tour, travel and resorts businesses under one roof, denoting the freshness and strength that CBR has in the industry.

“We are a diversified company that has been around for some time, and we wanted to bring some freshness,” said CBR chairman Ralph Mhone during the rebranding ceremony in Blantyre on Friday.

“The new [blue] colours which we’re wearing symbolize the trust that our clients have in us, hence we want to give them the best services ever,” he added, “We have also rebranded because we want to stand out.”

The company, which has presence in the capital city Lilongwe, the commercial city Blantyre and northern city Mzuzu, offers fully-packaged travel, tour and resort services locally and abroad.

CBR Tours Travel & resorts handles all IATA accredited airlines bookings and ticketing to all destinations worldwide, encompassing business travel and holiday packages, car hiring, passport and visas, hotel bookings as well as transit accommodation, among other services.

Mhone challenged the gathering, consisting mainly business captains and heads of parastatals, to think nothing but CBR in their travel and tours, as the company offers nothing but the best as compared to any other player on the land.

“We make sure that our clients’ travel is trouble-free and our rates are very competitive for high-quality services,” he said.

As their slogan “taking you places” suggests, CBR Tours Travel & Resorts has introduced two packages to take their clients on special trips.

One is a summer weekend at their resort in Nkhata-Bay, while the other is a trip to watch the Fifa World Cup in Brazil next year.

“The summer weekend is a splendid trip for 2 in Nkhata-Bay from 1st to 3rd November, to celebrate our rebranding with our clients,” said CBR finance manager Lisungu Chirwa.

She further revealed: “This is a package of a lifetime experience offering transport, 2 nights’ accommodation, sight-seeing and boat riding among others.”

During the rebranding ceremony, CBR offered a fully-sponsored trip to Nkhata-Bay to one lucky winner, an employee of Banja La Mtsogolo.

Though the expedition is open to all CBR clients, the rest of the customers who will be interested to be part of the fun in the beautiful northern lakeshore district will have to cough a fee amounting to K180,000.

The company however remained tight-lipped as to how winner of the Brazil trip would be selected, but said everything would be paid for the once-in-a-lifetime trip to Sao Paulo.

CBR Tours Travel & Resorts has been in existence since 1998 and has its own branded resorts and lounge in Lilongwe, Mzuzu and Nkhata-Bay, offering accommodation, banqueting, conferencing, eco-tours, sporting facilities and cultural festivals.
