Malawi’s R&B singer Armstrong set to release debut album in November

After thrilling Malawi urban music fans with hit songs like Ndamusowa, Sinditha Kumvetsa amongst several collaborations, celebrated Afro R&B artist Armstrong Kaluwa is finally releasing his debut album in November 2012.

According to the singer, dancer and songwriter, work on his solo album titled Ndele is almost done aside from a few touches here and there.

“Am launching my album this November and as of now all is almost set for the release. I can only describe the album as the best because I have worked with all my energy to enable my fans enjoy each and every track,” said Armstrong in an interview with Malawi News Agency (MANA).

According to Kaluwa the album is to be released under Nde’feyo entertainment and includes songs like Sinditha Kumvetsa, Ndamusowa, Ndekh and, Cabinet Yanga.

The album which contains 10 tracks has involved works of prominent producers in Malawi’s urban music circles like Percy Manyozo (Pro Pee), Audio clinic, Low Budget and Taps Bandawe.

“Some of the notable artists on the album include Piksy of the Unamata fame, veteran Wendy Harawa and Allan Chirwa,” he said.

The former dancer of a group called God Soldiers Dancing Group (G Soldiers) launched his urban music career in 2008 when he joined a group called Blessed Beyond Measure (BBM Clique) as a rapper before he went solo in 2010.

Currently signed to Nde’feyo entertainment Armstrong made his name a darling amongst mixed audiences in the country with his hit songs Ndamusowa and Sinditha Kumvetsa which enjoyed huge airplay in various radio stations upon immediate release.

He has worked with big musicians like Maskal, BarryOne and Young Kay in music festivals like Lake of Stars.
