Maneb releases 2012 MSCE results, 51.8 percent pass: Lower than 2011

The Malawi National Examination Board (MANEB) has released the 2012 Malawi School Certificate Education (MSCE) results.

Out of 111,781 candidates who sat for the examinations,  there are 57,906 who have passed representing 51.8 percent.

Maneb’s Director of Research and Test Development, Gerald Chiunda said this year’s pass rate is slightly lower than last year by at least three percent.

Chiunda said last year 53.3 percent of the candidates who sat for MSCE examinations passed.

“You would wish to know that out of this numbers who sat and pass examinations, 127,300 registered.

“During 2012 MSCE examinations Maneb has disqualified over 2,300 candidates for contravening Maneb rules.

“Internal candidates did better than other candidates with good pass rate like what they did last year,” said Chiunda.
