Masked robbers steal K8.7 million from Airtel office in Karonga
Masked armed robbers on Monday ransacked and robbed Karonga Airtel office K8.7 million, police has confirmed.
Karonga district police spokesperson Enoch Livason said the incident happened between the hours of 12 and 1 am when the thugs broke into the office.
“They invaded the area and tied up the security guards. After that they broke the rear door of the office and go straight where there was the cash,” said Livason.
He said the police have already launched an investigation to bring the culprits to book.
Anyone with information about the robbery, or anyone who thinks they may have seen anyone acting suspicious in the area on Thursday, is asked to inform the police.
