MASSA introduces netball sponsorship in schools

 Malawi Schools Sports Association (MASSA) has introduced a netball tournament to be competed for by all secondary schools in the country.

MASSA General Secretary Blackson Malamula said the association decided to introduce netball in schools to revive the sport, which is second most popular after football  in Malawi.
 
“MASSA announces the introduction of MASSA secondary schools netball tournament. Netball has been dormant in schools because of lack of competitions,” Malamula said.
 
He appealed to wellwishers to come forward to assist the association’s initiative in a bid to develop the sports from the grassroots level.
 
“MASSA has sourced K5 millions from its own means in oder to promote netball in schools. MASSA welcomes other stakeholders for partnership,” he said.
 
The MASSA girls netball tournament is for U-17 and school is required pay K10,000 for registration is MK10, 000 which would be used for administration at the zone.
 
The format of the competition is on an individual schools basis up to the division but from there divisional select will compete at national finals.

On prizes champions will walk away with K750, 000. Runners-up K500,000, third placed side K350,000, fourth team will get K300,000, fifth team K250,000 while the sixth team K200,000
