Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Member of Parliament for Kasungu East, Madaliso Kazombo has disclosed that he will lead his constituents in holding a vigil at the districts commissioner’s office to force government to construct a hospital at Kapyanga in T/A Wimbe.
“In my maiden speech [in parliament] I asked government to construct [a health centre] here at Kapyanga. Government did approve but they never fulfilled,” said Kazombo during a citizen hearing forum organized by the White Ribbon Alliance.
Kazombo made the remarks after being taken to task by his constituents on Saturday for failing to fulfill his pledge of constructing a hospital.
The MP said he will “ together with chiefs from here and pregnant women, we will match and hold a vigil at the DC’s office. This is the only way government will listen to us.”.
The villagers in the area managed to mould 600 000 bricks and also raised 2- tones of sand and quarry stones, but the project did not take-off.
