MCP mourns a member who died Sunday in road accident
Opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP) is mourning a member of the party who died in a car accident after he was flushed out of a moving vehicle on Sunday in Nkhotakota.
Nkhotakota police publicist William Kaponda confirmed the death of one person and five others who were injured seriously in the road accident as they were travelling to a political rally in Salima held by party president Lazarus Chakwera.
“The vehicle, a Scania lorry, had its side bonnets open whilst the vehicle was in motion, flushing out the deceased and the five others who were seriously injured,” said Kaponda.
The injured were taken to Salima District Hospital.
Chakwera is facing unprecedented political storm in Salima following rebel actions by Salima Central MP Felix Jumbe and Salima north west MP Jessie Kabwila.
Chakwera fired Jumbe as a party member and just reinstated Kabwila back into the party after a three month suspension.
However, she has been stripped of her position as party publicist.

Heartless leader indeed. How can you address a rally when one of your supporters who was traveling to attend the same raly has died. You shall for ever remain in opposition.
A bad leader indeed, kupitiliza rally pamene member wanu wamwalira? is that a care leader ????
APM was also prceeding his rally while one of the police died in Thyolo in 2015
Uwu ndi umbuli okhaokhao. Issues accidents and death are different. Accidents are confirmed at the place of accidents and death is confirmed by a doctor at the hospital which can be hours later. Am here to fight senseless comments.Muli bwanji
You are thinking very low. How much losses would your views incur?
better than keeping 100 million kwacha under your bed stolen from govt while there are no drugs in hosipitals
Despite being informed about the death of a supporter, Chakwera went ahead to address a rally in Salima. He is a very bad leader who doesn’t care about the lives of his followers. Keep away!
Is that so? And who are you? A good leader?
