MCP says participating in by-elections under protest

Main opposition, the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) says it is participating in by-elections in Kasungu and Lilongwe under protest.

Mkaka: MCP contesting under protest

Party secretary general Eisenhower Mkaka says the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) has lost public trust.

The commission is holding by-elections on November 5 in Lilongwe south constituency and  Matanje ward in Kasungu.

“As you may be aware, the party torch bearer in the 21st May, 2019 presidential elections is in court challenging the results that the commission announced on 27th May, 2019.

“Owing to the manner in which the commission ultimately managed the results, the commission should have waited for the conclusion of the court case before they conducted these by-elections,” says Mkaka.

He, therefore,  says the party was participating in the elections in under serious protest,  as MCP is participating  to ensure that the political rights of the people in the affected areas are respected, protected and promoted.

If there is one person I dont like in MCP it in Nkaka, Very rude and stupid and feels he knows it all yet Chakwera seems to favour him. If MCP has a poor public relationship recrd it is Munthali and Nkaka who are destroying this party

A MCP I think it is better not to participate. For your information MEC is working hand in hand with Police to organize these elections and you know what that means. If you don’t believe check who is driving MEC officials around during the preparations for the by elections, they are all policemen dressed as civilians. It is better to make a statement, now they have worked out a very sophisticated scheme to rig and akawina they will say you see, DPP is the popular party……. don’t say that you were not warned

So we can as well conclude that UTM is a serious party aimed at changing Malawi unlike MCP which is only interested in leadership, why should MCP support the JANE ANSAH and her MEC for election re-run while proclaiming they are incompetent electrol body, why double standards.

He is very right its only corrupt, minded thievies, regionalisms tipex promoting Ideas can support this in competent MEC as of now. The fact that it put some one on the seat using a bad method does not make it a good body. Mkaka is very right.

What are you contesting in court, the presidential result or the parliamentary? if both is the case then you too are not a bonafide MP because it is the same MEC which declared you fool a winner!

You are in parliament because of the same MEC so are you receiving your salaries under protest as well?
Ndiyetu a constitutional court akangopanga order re-run because of tipex Friends of DPP will move the court to annulled all parliamentary and councillors results affected by tipex.
