MCP set to appoint party vice president

The ruling Malawi Congress Party (MCP) says all is set to  has appoint a new party Vice President.

This comes amid speculation of power struggle and concerns that the party has taken longer to replace Sidik Mia who was holding the position until his death in January last year.
Reverend Maurice Munthali, spokesperson for the MCP said the perceived delay is because of prevailing issues affecting the country including administrative matters that must be addressed within the party.
He has also said the party is engaging district committee for them to nominate candidates.
