Mia backs Kabwila for Salima North West, calls for MCP unity

Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Vice President Sidik Mia has declared his support for Jesse Kabwira as the party’s legislator  for Salima North West Constituency during the2019 tripartite elections and urged her and other aspirant members of parliament from other constituencies and councilors respectively to work in unity and make the party strong.

Speaking during a political rally on Tuesday at Works ground in the district, Mia advised party officials from Lake Shore regional and district offices to work together with party contenders in all the constituencies and wards saying the unity will strengthen MCP and win the elections.

“We need unity so our party becomes stronger and this enables MCP defeat the current government which is putting majority Malawian lives in misery with squandering of tax payer’s money meant for drugs, alleviation of hunger through universal subsidy, good infrastructures such as roads, modern markets among others,” he said.

He then introduced the party aspirants including Kabwira who some party officials from the region and district declares as disqualified and was burring her to contest in primaries elections in Salima North West and were opting for her opponent Enock Phale.

In his part Kabwila said she is happy MCP still follows its four corner pillars to bring sanity especially in her constituency where primary polls was cancelled twice because of some greedy people.

“The coming of the Vice President of MCP here in Salima is very important for the people of Salima North West Constituency because the VP declares me as a torch bearer of the party in 2019 polls. This is a relief for me and people in my constituency,” she said.

She added that it is time for the party to work together as a family and strategize well on how they can win the tripartite elections next year and not wasting time in pulling each other down.

Kabwila then thanked MCP VP who honoured the aspirants request to stop by after attending IGITMA prayers at Chipoka and addresses people.

  1. Please Mr. MCP VP, go to Dedza and do the same for Juliana Lunguzi otherwise we will assume, wrongly perhaps, you are party to a diabolic plot by Chidzanja to remove her from the scene.

    Well, it won’t work.

  2. I like this woman (Jesse Kabwila.) in MCP, She is very strong. And we need more women to Parliament .

  3. Kodi Bwana Mia simukudziwa kuti President Dr Chakwera sakufuna Kabwila? Mai ameneyi ndi nkholokolo. Akufunatu Phale kumeneko.

  5. So, it’s now Mia, the new real leader of MCP, and not oChakwera calling the shots!
See? It has been said many times that oChakwera would be relieved of his responsibilities.

    1. Fwetseke! Akati Vice President ndiye sakhala ndi ntchito? Mukuyesa kutizipani toyiyako democratic when there is no democracy at all. Kabwira had asked Mia to assist her, nothing wrong

    2. Inuso tamawerengani, Mia is the vice President of MCP, the word vice mwina ndi amene avuta kumveka eti? Ndili panotu kutsuka ubongo wanthu.

    3. Its this mentality yomwe mumamukhalila nayo Chilima and no wonder he chose to go his own way! Is a vice president so useless on decision making such that he always needs to be told eveything! Nanunso inunso ndiye mpaka udzete wachonchi kuuwonetsela ku gulu? Paja sukulu mudalekela pati……………………..! Awanso nawoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  6. I hope Mia had discussed with his colleagues before endorsing this snake. Kabwila’s problem with the party has been her dislike of Mia joining the party. I hope Mia has done his homework otherwise this snake will come back to bite him

    1. Let’s hope for the best izi zomaona ngati kukhulukilana kunathazi mdizo zopusa, but I like the way wagaanizira.

Remember evil/bad can never correct evil/bad…………………………….!

  7. When party officials get involved in showing preference for candidates in primaries, dont get surprised when the less favoured do stand and win
    on independent ticket

  8. Kabwira was against the coming in of Mia to MCP and now she has seen his importance. She was against him, now he is the one who has served her. This World is round, lets not think that we wont meet one day.

    1. Kabwila loves MCP. The people of her constituency love her. Mia’s support for Jessie is based on a rational rather than an emotional basis. Chakwera hates her on a purely personal and emotional basis. MCP if you want to win in Salima North West, support this lady. As for the issue of Kabwila having rejected Mia initially, there are no permanent friends nor enemies in politics. These two people understand that perfectly well ( and they understand each other in that regard ). The ultimate objective, after all, is to WIN come rain or sunshine! Si phadatu iyi. This is a high-stakes game of politics!!!!

      1. No permanent enemies, why Chakwera has taken like permanent enemy to Jessie? Mia has gone there with the blessing of his Chakwera, the message he carried was from the table of them both. Aaaaaaa come on! Why separate these two guys? Oh I see, Malawians we have passed through the spirit of kusiyana maganizo kwa President and his Vice that’s why we are having this type of thinking. Oh shame,, aaaa let’s hope for the best!
