Mia report DPP to MEC over terror in Nsanje Lalanje by-elections

Malawi Congress Party  (MCP0 Lower Shire political heavy weight,  Sidik Mia on Saturday reported the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) to the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) over intimidation and terror the governing  party is conducting  towards the opposition political parties especially the MCP in the Nsanje Lalanje by-election.

Mia was speaking at a campaign political rally in Mtsiliza when he was drumming up support for the MCP aspiring Councillor.

During the rally MEC Commissioner Reverend Baloyi attended as an observer.

“DPP blocks us from engaging the electorate,  they send their cadets to beat us. DPP breaks our cars, DPP blocks roads when  we are on our way to campaign, is this what we call democracy?  We are asking you our MEC officials to take note of what is happening,” said Mia.

“As MCP we don’t fear anything , we are not even worried, even if they block us from using MBC, God will open windows  of opportunities, we will not retaliate, but God will fight the war for us . Only God is almighty no human power can beat that,” said Mia.

In an interview , Reverend Baloyi said he could not comment on the Mia protest saying  it was political podium tslk and they expect official complaint.
