Mia says back in frontline politics to break the poverty bondage of Malawians
Malawi Congress Party (MCP) celebrated new political catch, Muhammed Sidik Mia has said he has bounced back into frontline politics to break what he called the poverty bondage most Malawians are in because of failed leadership.
Mia said this in Mangochi on Friday during the year end closing of Hannif Islamic Centre. The wealthy businessma-cum-politician said it is only Dr Lazarus Chakwera and his MCP who have the true vision to transform Malawi from a poverty stricken nation to a prosperous nation.
“It is sad that 53 years after independence, Malawians are still trapped in abject poverty. It is not only war which destroys a nation but bad policies by leaders,” he said.
He said President Peter Mutharika and his Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) are responsible for the current cycle of poverty.
Mia therefore asked people to support him, Chakwera and the MCP during the 2019 general election.
He said he is not getting back into politics for money or islamise the country but to help the MCP get the country out of its poverty when the party gets into the government.
Muslim leaders and traditional leaders who attended the function, which was almost like a political rally, pledged their support to Mia.
The meeting was attended by some MCP officials, including the director of political affairs, Henry Kamata.

You recycled political prostitutes stink. We will never develop with chunk like you Mia.
Personally,I have no trust over Mia.Malawians you are too trusting. It is very disturbing that Chakwera can have guts to dump Richard Msowoya an indigenous Malawian and picks Mia an Arab Muslim to represent Malawians. This is strange and unheard of in Southern Africa.Arabs are not trusted and this will creat political problems for Chakwera and his MCP.How would Malawians forget so soon the Muluzi-Gaddafi epic? To the Northerners,I vehemently advise you to ignore MCP which has for long under estimated you.Arabs are imbued with anti-African feelings and look down upon us.It would be foolhardy for Africans to believe that Mia means… Read more »
