Miss Malawi to star in Zim action movie

Miss Malawi Faith Chibale to star in Zimbabwe’s latest action film titled, The Gentleman, which also features one of South Africa’s leading actors, Presley Chweneyagae and Zimbabwe business tycoon Philip Chiyangwa.

Rufaro Kaseke, the movie producer, said the Joe Njagu production is a tale of twin brothers whose worlds had gone drastically wrong.

The Gentlemanis a sweeping story of love, corruption, deception and social degradation.

The producer told Zimbabwe’s NewsDay said the star-studded cast comprises Miss Malawi 2010 Faith Chibale and local actors that include former Big Brother Africa housemate, Munyaradzi Chidzonga.

Others  are Miss Matofotofo Sithandazile Dube , Elijah Madzikatire, Precious Makhulumo, and Patrick Mabhena, musician Willis Wataffi, Charles Muzemba, Tonderai Hakuna among others.

According to Zimbo Jam, the movie was shot on location in Zimbabwe and South Africa. It tells the story of two twin brothers, both played by Chidzonga. One lives in Zimbabwe and works as an financial auditor. His wife falls seriously ill and he does not have the money to pay the medical bills.

Meanwhile, at work he discovers that one of his clients are involved in fraudulent dealings. He wants to expose them and is offered a bribe. He needs the money but is an upright man and goes into serious internal conflict; should he or shouldn’t he? How far will he go for his dying wife?

His twin brother spends his time on the streets of Joburg, carrying out deals with gangsters. He steals money from one of his gangster friends, played by Chweneyagae, and then runs off to Zimbabwe as they pursue him. They follow him to Harare and end up face to face with the wrong twin brother…

The film is set to premiere in Harare on September 16 before premiering in Johannesburg,  London  Malawi and other countries courtesy of Predestined Pictures from South Africa.
