Former Malawi Congress Party (MCP) regional chairperson for centre Daniel Mlomo has implicated some party members of parliament for over his two years rebellion.
Addressing reporters at the MCP headquarters in Lilongwe , Mlomo said some MPs and those aspiring for the MCP presidency were the ones behind his rebellion.
However, Mlomo refused to name the members of Parliament and senior party leaders who were sending him to rise against Chakwera.
“At the moment I cannot give you names of [Nkholokokolo] who were behind us,” said Mlomo.
Mlomo has since urged the disgruntled District Chairmen who took Chakwera to court to drop whatever grudges they had with the leadership, saying things cannot change at once in the party.
“Time has come to forget the past and move forward as a family. Time of bickering is over let’s give our leadership time to change things because people out there are waiting for MCP to rule this country again and make Malawi better,” said Mlomo.
Mlomo until Saturday, was the leader and spokesperson for district chairpersons who dragged Chakwera and MCP to court demanding for emergency convention.
In his response, MCP Deputy Secretary General ,Eisenhower Mkaka said the party leadership is very happy with the development.
Mkaka said the party regards all who took it to court as its members.
Currently the party has big task to know who were behind the revolt since Mlomo says cannot diverge such information.
